- On the launch team for Disney.com 3.0(August, 2008). Some of my responsibilities included:
- In charge of launching the Disney.com Home page.
- Architecting the new XML for the site navigation using a CMS and templates.
- CMS data structure standards for new objects created that support new site functionality.
- Content implementation for multiple layouts of the Disney.com Home page.
- Writing the technical specifications for new elements created for 3.0.
- Conducted on-site CMS and template training in Japan for the Disney.co.jp re-launch(October, 2007).
- On the launch team for Disney.com 1.0, the reinvention of Disney.com(February, 2007). Some of my responsibilities included:
- In charge of launching the new content and initial troubleshooting.
- In charge of populating the new content structure with data.
- Working closely with a team of web developers and business units to organize the implementation of large amounts of data.
- Writing the technical specifications for new elements created for 1.0.
- Acting as a liaison between business units and web developers to ensure that expectations and timelines are met.
- Working with 3rd party developers to guarantee that their code and assets meet the Disney.com framework requirements.
- In charge of updating and integrating the Flash, HTML and ad-served content and code for Disney.com, as well as 12+ top level channel and neighborhood pages spawned from this main portal. Regular content updates are scheduled semiweekly, weekly, biweekly and monthly.
- In charge of the templating system and the weekly integration for the Disney Insider Newsletter Email and all related pages.
- Development of new web pages using wire-frames, spec sheets and creative assets, with an eye towards creative and practical problem solving.
- Manipulation of assets/artwork and creation new assets/artwork when needed.
- Using GoPublish (CMS) to update content on template driven pages.
- Building templates using Disney's proprietary TEA scripting language.
- Working side by side with producers, QA and other web developers discussing solutions for problematic issues.
- Working closely with the QA department to ensure that daily & weekly deadlines are met and operational standards are maintained.
- Creating detailed test plans for all work completed to facilitate proper testing.
- Submission of completed work using a production tracking database.
- Tracking all assigned work using the JIRA project management application, while assuring that all relavent projects are followed through to completion.
